Since there's been a few issues going around, I'm here to clarify them up.


#1: Programs Needed





#1.1: Getting ERRORS:

If you're getting an OpenSSL error, you need to install OpenSSL 32Bit. The link is above. If you're getting "GIT not found" error, you need to install Git - the link is above. If you're still getting that error, follow this

1. You can do that check the Box.

2. You could reinstall the correct way ( so you don't have to check the WITHOUT_GIT box all the time). I do have a general tutorial on how to do that
. (Just pointing that out)

3. It is just a path issue, so just add it to your variable path:

1. Right click on Computer.
2. Click Advanced System Settings
3. Click Environment Variables inside the Advanced Menu
4. Under System Variables, scroll to PATH
5. Add ;"C:\path\to\git\bin";"C:\path\to\git\cmd"

#3: Specifying your paths

"Where is the source code"

Source code path should be linked to your TrinityCore/ source folder. Do not link it to your TrinityCore/cmake folder as it does not contain a CMakeLists.txt. Here's images to help you:





"Where to build the binaries"

This folder can be anywhere. I normally link it in the same directory my TrinityCore folder is in. If the folder doesn't exist, it will make one for you. I'm going to link the build folder in the same folder my TrinityCore directory is:

"C:/Users/Tommy/Desktop/335/build"

NOTE: Once you select the build path, you cannot move this folder because everything will be linked to it. If you want to move the folder you'll have to do File -> Delete Cache, delete the 'build' folder and choose a new directory for it.

#4: Selecting your Configurate options

I use Visual Studio 2013, so the compiler option is Visual Studio 12.


  • Visual Studio 12 - VS 2013



For the bubble option, choose "Use default native compilers" and click 'Finish'.

Since I use Visual Studio 2013, I will select Visual Studio 12 option.

If you do NOT see the Visual Studio 12 option, choose VS 12 2013 option instead:



After that, it will start configuring. Once it stops configurating, you should see different options. I don't recommend selecting the other options, only 'Tools' option if you need tools.



Once you're happy with what you see, click 'Generate'.
