I just got finished running Dire Maul (east) out of boredom while waiting for the dm rare spawn to spawn. As i got to the end of the run, i ran out of exit and noticed that there constantly are 3 rich thorium veins at the end of each run. I went back and ran again, and again there were 3 rich thorium veins. It happnes that thorium goes for 45-50g a stack on my server, Skullcrusher, so i figured i'd post a small guide.

1. Enter dm east, and head straight for the ledge on your right. Its a pretty long fall, but it won't kill you. Follow the road in the middle (going right) until you come to a doorway, and watchout for the trees patting back and forth.

2. There is an elemental boss in the middle there, you can ignore it if you want, or kill it and d/e the drops. From the entrane you went in, go to the northeastern door, up the windy ramp, and kill the boss upstairs, and this will release the tree.

3. Backtrack back to the original pathway you jumped down onto, and talk to the giant friendly tree and have him open the door for you, just follow him if you don't know your way around DM. Once the door is broken down, just hug sides and run down either side of the ramp until you come to about 3 packs of plant plant mobs. They don't hit very hard, and iwll pull with the boss if you skip them so i advise you kill them. Olny takes a minute or two.

4. Finally just kill the boss (get a Forum's if you are lucky which will still sell for like 100-200g) and you will see an exit out of the instance right in front of you. Along the path are 3 rich thorium veins, and mine away. Rinse and Repeat

I know it sounds long, but if done right the runs should only take 5-10 mins or so, and if you are leveling blacksmithing or engineering, it can save you tons of money. Also, some of the bosses can drop greens, and i don't know about you but greater eternal essences go for about 15-20g a piece and illusion dust for 50-60g a stack, at least.

I would also like to point out the HUGE ammount of gold to be made of random greens off bosses as well as blues, and i just picked up some DM books and an ace of elementals off the elemental boss.
