"Apparently, the world is going to end on December 21st, 2012. Yes, you read correctly, in some way, shape or form, the Earth (http://www.universetoday.com/guide-to-space/earth/) (or at least a large portion of humans on the planet (http://www.universetoday.com/guide-to-space/the-solar-system/planet/)) will cease to exist. Stop planning your careers, don't bother buying a house, and be sure to spend the last years of your life doing something you always wanted to do but never had the time. Now you have the time, four years of time, to enjoy yourselves before… the end.
So what is all this crazy talk? We've all heard these doomsday predictions before, we're still here, and the planet is still here, why is 2012 so important? Well, the Mayan calendar stops at the end of the year 2012, churning up all sorts of religious, scientific, astrological and historic reasons why this calendar foretells the end of life as we know it. The Mayan Prophecy is gaining strength and appears to be worrying people in all areas of society. Forget Nostradamus, forget the Y2K bug, forget the credit crunch, this event is predicted to be huge and many wholeheartedly believe this is going to happen for real. Planet X (http://www.universetoday.com/2008/05/25/2012-no-planet-x/) could even be making a comeback.

Frankly its all speculation and a matter of chance, we could be hit at any moment with a huge solar flare or a giant piece of space rock but the chances are so low we just don't worry about it until we have these crazy storys and ancient prophecys to hype it all up.
When 2012 comes ill be one of the few to pull up a lawn chair grab a coke and watch all the crazys run around screaming, rapeing and pillaging only to be shot or arrested the next day.

I personally don't think this will happen but I kinda do at the same time from all this facts and research. We're suppose to have a giant asteroid hit us soon and there was this thing online saying the Government was trying to create a giant ass machine that goes back in time.... And they said if it goes wrong it could cause a giant sinkhole.. Look it up on google you'll see what I'm talking about...
And ya... Remember 2000, Y2K? Never happened... The same as a bunch of other crap. So we'll see when the day comes.

I dont think that will happend! Too many Armaggedons were found and none happend actually :) even in 1999 it was said that will be the end of the Earth cause the Antichrist will come and destroy everything! Mass Media invents all kind of things using gifted people like Nostradamus (predictor) to get more trafic on theyre TV channels...nowdays only end of days and worse things atract people!This is the world we are living in it...Be optimist always thats what i say!And live your days like its the end of the world!!at maximum!

No offense but you sound just as foolish as the doomsayers going around saying "OMG we're all going to die in 2012!" like it's a fact. The truth is whether you say it will happen or it won't happen is all just an opinion and until 2012 comes around that's all it ever will be.

If there were any solid proof, then I'd believe it. But like religion it's all a load of bullshit until the proof is provided. And I mean REAL proof, not the kind the religious nutjobs go around giving out today.
And no, if anyone takes this the wrong way I'm NOT meaning "religious nutjobs" as in general, I'm talking about the idiots who go door to door trying to convert people to their religion.
All I know is that I do not beleive its going to happen, some people might beleive it but whatever, its either "I TOLD YOU SO...BOOOOOOM" *earth explodes* or NO I TOLD YOU SO *nothing* lets just hope its the non beleivers that are right.

hey guys... everything can be true, BUT, IF the DOOMSDAYS SHALL COME, it will be THE DAY, NOBODY knows it... so, 21 december is just a symbol.... ppl born and ppl die... nothing new in this world will happen
however, as universe is so big, i think we JUST are totaly disinformed on all these things.
BUT as we are organic beings, food for viruses and bacteries, we r just too precious te be let alone in the hand of the distruction, we will survive :P
