Here's a quick way to get moving at 80 (2-3 weeks) with only a couple hours a day needed if you are observant. Here are your priorities when hitting 80.

First 3 weeks:
1) 10 arena games (3v3 or higher)
2) Complete WG offensive dalies
3) Complete WG defensive dalies
4) Emalon and Archivon
4) Complete a WG offensive
5) Complete a BG daily
6) Complete a WG defensive
7) A rotation of any battleground you need tokens for

Prioritized from 1-7 with 1 being highest. For the arena games, you don't necessarily need to do them first thing, just make sure you get it done sometime that week. You can lose all 10 games and still get enough points for a piece of gear. (My alt went 1-9 the first week of arena like this, don't be self conscious.) Putting them off to monday is rarely a good idea. If you don't have any friends, spam trade for arena partners looking to get 10 games in. They are easy to find. Winning WG offensive while completing all 3 dalies is the biggest boost of honor you can possibly get. Overall it gives you upwards of 10-12k. The defensive daily gives you a few thousand as well as long as you leave the keep and help destroy a tower. After that, the best use for WG is the tokens. You want to be in every offensive battle and any defensive battles you can that are not interrupting anything else you are doing.

After WG is out of the way, you want to be running whatever battleground you need tokens for in order to complete a token turn in. If you are having especially good fortune in a specific bg one day (winning a lot), stock up on some tokens from there while they are rolling in. The key, though, is never to lose focus of your primary goal - which is to be getting tokens for honor turn ins. The BG daily should always be completed because it gives a good amount of honor on top of the normal game. Similarly, attention should be payed to what BG weekend it is and you should try and run those a bit more than others when possible.

You can do this in minimal time each day if you log on early and calculate all of the times when WG offensive is going to be available and log on for that. 2 WG wins takes maybe 30 minutes and rewards you with 6 badges. Outside of WG just make sure to complete a BG cycle and win the daily. That's it. Sure there's a lot more you can be doing but for the time being we're just going to focus on bare minimum honor gain.

Vault:
Obviously a must-do for every player as soon as they are capable. Many pugs look down on bringing undergeared, inexperienced players to this so you need to find a way to blend in.
1) Flask it. They're only 20g and that's definitely worth it to boost your dps.
2) Food buff it - Even if no feast is dropped you should be food buffed.
3) PvE spec. You need every advantage you can get when you have poor quality gear. Dual spec is definitely worth the 1000g if you can spare it.
4) Make sure to burn all of your cooldowns on the first 1-2 trash pulls. This will help overinflate your dps so that you are looked over when the dps vultures are scanning the meters seeing who isn't pulling their weight. As long as you're somewhere ahead of the bottom few people you should be fine - and since nobody really tries on trash, you should be even higher than you should be if you are going all out.

Not knowing the fight will make you stand out like a sore thumb. Watch videos and read strategies for both fights. They aren't hard in the slightest, but you have to at least know what to expect. For Emalon the biggest bit of advice I can give is spread out and watch for switches to the enraged (gigantic sized) add. Don't be standing within 10 yards of anyone else or you'll get people CL'd which doesn't make them happy.

Gear priorities:
After 1 week of arena 3v3 losses and 10,000 honor, you can buy the hateful gloves or shoulders. Buy one or the other. Now during the week save up enough honor to buy the other one that you didn't buy with only honor. They are the cheapest hateful pieces you can buy so it shouldn't take long. After week 2 you want to repeat the process with the helmet/chest/pants depending on which one you need the most and then proceed to buy 1 more with honor during the week.

For your offset pieces, craft the blue introductory set if your gear is still quest greens/blues. If you have pve pieces (doubtful at this point) keep those on. This includes making the two jewelcrafting spell/crit/res rings. Make sure you craft the titansteel weapon for yourself as soon as you're 80 as well. As far as offhands, if you get 25 normal level 80 emblems you can pick up an offhand from the badge vendor.

The first 25 WG tokens (which should take ~4 days of doing 2 offensives a day - remember you don't have to be online for 5 hours wiating for it to happen again) should go towards buying yourself a pvp trinket. After that, I would spend 15 on a belt and buy the boots after that. Sure they aren't the best in slot, but they are solid pvp upgrades and MUCH better than your blue set gear.

I prioritized it this way because the offset furious pieces are rather low rating (starting at 1300 and up to 1650), while the furious set pieces are higher rated (1700+) If you are doing alright in arena, you may be able to hold off buying any off-set arena pieces until you get to the furious range. If you are struggling, buy the deadly ones. As always, focus on haste gear. If you are looking to get another offset piece and you aren't quite at rating then pick up the deadly ring. Most people wear this piece with a full furious set anyways.

If you stay on this pattern for 3 weeks, you should have a mostly purple pvp set and a good start on becoming competitive.
