Hey guys, I've been reading a wee bit about what to look for next after the huge boom of the last couple of weeks, this post in particular was quite helpful;
'everything is still selling for me on my medium pop server. the few weeks of ridiculous gold making are nearing their end so now its time to settle in and try to prepare for whatever the next big thing is.i am finding that even with only 1 max level char and fairly maxed out garrison, i am making a good bit of cash just selling the shit from that. i am only running a ~300 auction inventory right now to keep my stress level down, and focusing only on items over 500g or 1k preferably.
soon people will begin buying items again that were hot before the new content release. my bread and butter was always completionist items - i focused on rare patterns. robes of arcana, felsteel rapier, felfury gauntlets, etc. so i am running scans on that stuff as much as possible. haven't seen much of that reappearing, so i'm hoping they aren't on the salvage yard loot tables and will remain valuable for a long time.
it may seem silly.. but i've sold felsteel patterns for 20k a pop very quickly, and robes of arcana are a realistic 50k for that pattern on most servers.
other great consumables/one use items to keep an eye out for cheap are older content rep items like encrypted twilight text for people farming the Cenarius title. very cheap usually and can sell in stacks for a massive markup.
stuff like Hozen Peace Pipe and the rare pet Battle-Stones will start selling again as people settle into that 'i have nothing to do but sit in the garrison, steemwheedle rep or raid' phase and begin looking for things to do in old content to complete their achievements.
leveling 90+ BOEs are still selling well for me. keep their prices low, don't try to gouge real high if you've only got one listed. people know they will be replaced quickly and don't want to blow 2k on those stupid i570 shoulders. at 800g-1.2k that stuff sells fast, and its easy to be the only guy selling them.'
