Fantastic Repack - Now to Invite the Friends
Hi, just wanted to comment that the repack worked flawlessly literally "out of the box". Fantastic setup. Tested much of it's capabilities and I must admit am impressed with it's stability and functionality. I am enjoying flying around as .GM of my very own private server. Being a C# developer I was able to find the missing files and simply insert them when the auth server kept halting. SQL works excellently. I am looking to start scripting scenarios and design custom "fun" areas for my friends. I have a problem though...
My issue is that I am unable to connect other gaming rigs on my home network to my new server. I am able to fire up my client and connect on the server to build characters (127.0.0.1) but when I attempt to do so from a machine on my 192.168.1.x (literally 10 feet from the server on the same switch) subnet it cycles through the realm list - not allowing me to build any characters. It says it's connect (presumably authentication is ok at this point), but goes back to the realm list immediately afterwards.
No firewalls are turned on, but maybe theres some port fowarding to consider? Not sure. What should I configure to allow other machines on the same network (192.168.1.x) as the monster server to connect? I have few friend with some laptops that would really like to take the server for a spin at my house. kthx
