Hey everyone,
The WoW trading scene keeps evolving — new scams, changes in GSLT/realm policies, bot detection updates… lots to consider if we want to stay safe while buying or selling gold, services, or accounts.
I’ve been building up a platform (Allshop.gg) for WoW transactions, and we’ve had to overhaul our security approach recently. I thought I’d crowdsource a few insights:

🔍 Key Question #1: Escrow vs Instant Transfer

  • Some players hate the wait escrow imposes, others say it’s essential for trust.
  • What’s your experience — have you been burned using instant gold transfers? Are sellers willing to wait for escrow release?

🔐 Question #2: Verification Methods

  • We're exploring optional ID/photo checks or Discord-linked accounts.
  • Too invasive, or worth the extra security layer?

🛡️ Question #3: Bot/Scam Detection

  • Have you noticed increased bot interception or trade reversal attempts in 2025?
  • Any tools or checks (like deliver-limit timers, session locking) that have helped you?

💡 Why I’m asking:

We’ve built seller dashboards, heatmaps of suspicious accounts, and manual dispute resolution workflows — but we're always looking to improve based on real-world experiences.
Would love to hear:

  • Your war stories (good and bad)
  • Tools or scripts you trust
  • What makes you stop and think “I won’t trade here”

Let's compare notes — maybe we can set a new standard for safe WoW trades.
