I'm actually not too sure about the defense rating on that particular item, the stat increases are something like this: Say you have the 25M Heroic ICC sword off of the Lich king. And that has about 344.6 Damage per second on it. Then you went and got a custom version of the 25M HC version, it's DPS stat would be increased to 413.8< or something around there, but definitely over 400 DPS. Does that give you a better idea of how custom items work? In addition, as other mentioned you can have whatever item skin you want for your Custom item, as well as your own name for the item, and description. In this way you can personalize your item as much as you want. Hope that helped

Would be nice if you could choose that but you must only choose lvl 80 items that are not Heirloom or Legendary....

Yes customs are very ballanced any good player can beat a custom player anyday the nice thing about customs are u can choose how your char look and how his weapon looks.

You can also name the custom item whatever you want,and write a note bellow item description.Like this you can be unique wearing your own designed custom gear.

Customs are balanced.I have customs but I suck so furious players pwn me.It's ok for me.

I will say that the customs help a lot, but you still need skill to beat others. Anyone can beat customs, if they're good enough. It's just gear, skill is still a huge part of PVP.
