I haven't been in the world of emulation in a while, but I wanted to get a server back up for making movies. How exactly does one setup a repack? Obviously you have to setup the SQL server via MySQL, but I haven't been able to find directions of how to do this on the net (in relation to emulation at least).



I recently downloaded the Catalyst Cataclysm (CCC) repack, but their website has no way to register, and I can't view their forums (if they even have any? The site looks very empty) without doing that. Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide for setting up MySQL in preparation for using a repack? Any info would be appreciated VERY much! Thank you!

Nope! Just want to use the one I downloaded Something tells me this is far more complicated then the last time I set up a server

Well, I'm not sure I understand how they work.

1) I have the repack.
2) I have the version of WoW (Cata alpha) I want to use

What I need is the 'how I setup MySQL to work with the repack'. Every time I try to download Visual C++ Express it stops at about 68mb and won't finish. I've tried several times now. Is there another program I can use? Or a good guide with a list of alternatives?

I am trying to get this setup:

Do I need to already have MaNGOS installed? The one really good guide I found needs to use Visual C++ Express (which I can't get to install) and claims to be out of date? Know of another good one ?

What version are you trying to install ? the C++

That would be Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition on Windows XP SP3 system.
